Jack Campbell reveals he broke a bone after being hit in face by the puck on the bench
Last night the Edmonton Oilers not only lost to one of the best teams in the NHL, the New Jersey Devils 5 to 2 but they also nearly lost backup goalie Jack Campbell. While Campbell was sitting on the bench, a rogue puck left the ice surface and hit him in the face.
Today Campbell revealed that he actually had surfaced a broken nose on the play.
This is just another unlucky break for the Oilers who are truly hoping Campbell finds his form.
When healthy Campbell will be competing with Stuart Skinner to get more time in the crease, but so far this season Campbell has been extremely underwhelming for the Oilers. Campbell hasn't been in goal since November 10th and it's very possible this injury keeps him out of the net a bit longer.
