Jakub Voracek turns to social media to BLAST NHL Player Safety
Earlier today it was announced that Marcus Foligno would not face a suspension for his knee-on-knee hit against Blue Jackets' Jakub Voracek. Instead Foligno faced a $5,000 essentially making this hit clean at a cost.
Many fans turned their sights on George Parros for his inconsistency delivering suspensions. Fans feel that the league needs to crack down on these issues and even further fans are clamouring for referees to be far more consistent.
This week alone the NHL has received criticism over calls/nom-calls in the Caps/Oilers, Leafs/Coyotes and Avs/Canes game. Now add the Minnesota Wild and Columbus Blue Jackets game to this list as well.
After Auston Matthews and Gabriel Landeskog called out the league we can now add Jakub Voracek to the list of players upset with the league. The difference? Voracek turned to social media to air his grievances.
It'll be interesting to see how the NHL responds because it's possible Voracek receives a tougher punishment for these comments than Foligno faced for his hit.
