Jesperi takes shot at the Canadiens after signing his extension
Jesperi Kotkaneimi signed a massive 8-year extension with the Carolina Hurricanes. The deal for Kotkaneimi comes with a cap hit of $4,820,000 per year.
While speaking with the media for the first time since signing the extension Kotkaneimi shared the following:
A big reason I like Raleigh is because it reminds me of my hometown in Finland.
I now have a little peace [On signing an 8-year extension]
But that's not what might upset some Canadiens' fans. While talking about his time in Carolina, Kotkaneimi said the following about his previous home:
When I got to Carolina, I was reminded how much I love hockey
Kotkaneimi's time in Montreal wasn't an entirely positive experience as he had a rough time with former head coach, Claude Julien.
Canadiens fans were not happy when JK signed offer sheet and I'm sure they won't be super happy about this either.
