After the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley cup with Jordan Binnington as the backstop, everyone was excited for the future, then Binnington got comfortable, let his personality shine things have been downhill ever since.
Today, the St Louis Blues are taking on the Colorado Avalanche in Denver and Binnington is up to his typical antics, take a look:
The Colorado Avalanche player on front of the net does take a little whack at the puck as the whistle is being blown, but Binnington coming out of his crease to then challenge the Avs player is comical.
Av's goaltender Alexandar Georgiev comes out to centre ice, seemingly wanting to fight Binnington, but the referees catch it and send him back to his net.
After the dust settles, Binnington them taunts the crowd as he makes his way to the bench. The Blues may be down 3-0, but to me all he's proving is he's childish
It's a good thing the Blues were there to defend their goaltender, but they must be getting tired of his antics.
If I was on the opposing team, the only thing Binnington is showing me is that he can't handle the game within the game that goes on at the NHL level. At this point, if teams aren't trying to make him lose his temper, they're doing it wrong.
