To say the Toronto Maple Leafs have been upset with officiating recently, would be an understatement. The Leafs have had multiple points taken from them over the past two weeks due to incompetent officiating. It began with a terrible missed call in overtime versus Arizona and came to a head against the Canadiens on Saturday, in both cases penalties against Auston Matthews weren't called.
Kyle Dubas is currently at the NHL General Managers meetings. After today's meeting he was asked about his thoughts on the NHL officiating and he gave this extremely sarcastic response.
Officiating. Everything's great with officiating.
With the memo already having been sent out to all GM's that any criticism of NHL officiating would result in a fine, it appears GMs are still walking a tight rope with the league.
In this case it's not about what Dubas says, it's how he says it and it's clear he's not a huge fan of how things have gone for his team.
