The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced their first set of roster cuts as the pre-season continues on and we get a glimpse of that possibly could be the opening night lineup (or close to it anyway) tonight in Montreal against the Canadiens.
According to the Leafs official Twitter account, they have sent down 10 players to the Toronto Marlies
The Leafs have sent down F Joseph Blandisi F Curtis Douglas F Max Ellis
F Pavel Gogolev D Matt Hellickson D Noel Hoefenmayer D Tommy Miller D Matteo Pietroniro F Logan Shaw and F Graham Slaggert.
None of these cuts are surprising, it's just another signal that regular season hockey is around the corner.
With the season opener on the 12th in Montreal, I would expect the next round of cuts to come rather quickly. Thst way the team has a few days of practices as a group before the games start to matter for real.
