Long-time NHL scout passes away at 58-years-old
Andrew Shaw, a longtime NHL scout passes away Friday at his home in Sarnia, Ontario. Shaw also previously worked as a billet for the Ontario Hockey League, housing multiple players who would go onto have NHL careers. Shaw was 58-years-old at the time of his passing.
Shaw's scouting career spanned 30 years between the OHL and NHL. Last season Shaw served as an amateur scout for the Edmonton Oilers, after previously spending 12 years with the Columbus Blue Jackets organization.
During his time as an OHL billet, Shaw housing most notably, Steven Stamkos and Connor Murphy. Since the announcement of Shaw's passing, Stamkos took to Twitter to share the following message:
