Two of the NHL's biggest stars are scheduled to face off tomorrow night in Denver. Connor McDavid's, Edmonton Oilers are set to face Nathan MacKinnon's Colorado Avalanche. The NHL is salivating at the opportunity to maximize their profits for this series.

Today Nathan MacKinnon was asked about the potential matchup and he didn't pass up the opportunity to take a shot at the league and their salary cap.

Hopefully that gets us more viewers and lowers escrows, but other than that I don't care.

The NHL Players have been tasked with paying back the escrow to the NHL owners for money lost during the COVID pandemic, something the players were unhappy with.

It's clear by MacKinnon's answer he doesn't care about anything beyond winning the series, and how quickly the salary cap can rise. MacKinnon seems clearly focused, which is bad news for the Edmonton Oilers.
