Robin Lehner missed significant time last season due to injury. The goaltender even had his season cut short by season ending shoulder surgery. Lehner's inconsistent play and injuries likely played a major role in Vegas missing the playoffs.
According, to Hockey Insider, Frank Seravalli, Lehner still may not be able to healthy enough to start the regular season.
The Golden Knights and General Manager are already in significant cap trouble, and this isn't likely to make those any easier. The Golden Knights will be forced to run a tandem of Logan Thompson and Laurent Brossoit if Lehner is unable to play.
It appears the Golden Knights overplayed their hand early and might already be on their downswing.
