Marc-Andre Fleury admits he'd be interested in playing for a surprising Canadian team
Marc-Andre Fleury's season ended on a sour note, he was eliminated from the 1st round and it happened with him sitting on his team's bench. Fleury lost the starters role to Cam Talbot and there have been questions about whether he'd return to Minnesota or not. While Fleury reportedly has some interest in returning, the Wild's cap situation could prove that impossible.
Today during a golf tournament in Quebec, Fleury was asked if he'd have interest in joining his hometown Montreal Canadiens.
It could be an option, but it isn't just yet. Carey [Price] finished the season and I hope he'll be okay to return next season.
The idea of Fleury playing for the Habs has always been compelling for the netminder. But with hopes of playing for another Stanley Cup it's difficult to think Fleury would sign with his local team.
This summer will be interesting to see what happens with Fleury, with so few starters jobs available and limits to where he's willing to play his options will be limited.
