Last night the Buffalo Sabres defeated the Minnesota Wild in overtime by a score of 6-5. With less than 20 seconds left in 3 on 3 overtime Victory Oloffson blasted a shot that beat Marc-Andre Fleury.
5 goals in the NHL is usually enough to win and Fleury knew that. After the game Fleury was reportedly furious, cursing and throwing things, while apologizing to his teammates. But according to Michael Russo, Fleury's issue run much deeper than just on ice.
Never seen a goalie beat himself up like Fleury. He's slamming things, apologizing to teammates, cursing, saying 5 goals should be a win every time
I can tell you, MAF has been dealing with a deep personal matter the last week and is leaving #mnwild tonight til Tuesday
According to Russo this is something that Fleury has been dealing with for awhile and it hasn't impacted his game until now.
Fleury won't be available for tonight's game against the Blues, but should return in time for Tuesday's game against the Rangers. All things considered hopefully Fleury can handle the issues he's currently experiencing.
