Matthew Tkachuk gives the Calgary Flames a list of 5 teams he's willing to sign with
Today Matthew Tkachuk made it official. Tkachuk informed Flames' General Manager, Brad Treliving that he has no intention of signing an extension with the franchise. This comes exactly one week after Johnny Gaudreau walked to the Columbus Blue Jackets via free agency.
Now it appears that Tkachuk has also provided the Flames with a list of 5 teams he's willing to sign an extension with. Tkachuk doesn't have the ability to block a trade to any market, but going to a market that can't retain his services will drastically impact his trade value.
In the article, it is listed that Matt Tkachuk has a list of teams he would sign long-term with. Those teams are:
St. Louis, Vegas, Florida, Nashville and Dallas
With limited cap space it is likely that both Vegas and Florida would both likely not be viable options, while St. Louis, Dallas and Nashville will all be possible locations. Given the prospect pools for these teams it's very conceivable to believe a deal could come together very quickly.
