Matthew Tkachuk makes a bold claim about where he ranks one of his teammates
Matthew Tkachuk has already become a fan favorite, stating his hate for Tampa Bay, and who blames him? But he is continuing the trend with his latest statement.
We have a top 3 player (Barkov) in the NHL right now, and that's a fact.
If you look at some projected lineups for this season, Tkachuk's linemates may end up being, Sasha Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe. Barkov, much like Huberdeau is an underrated player in the NHL since 2017 putting up 60+ points per year.
To have your newest teammate compliment you as a top 3 in the league is the highest praise, and no doubt will help solidify the relationships on and off the ice in the near future.
Even with being on injured reserve back in December, Barkov managed to bounce back and put up 39 goals and 49 assists, for 88 points this season. Time will only tell how much more having Tkachuk on his line, will elevate his game.
