Multiple veterans placed on waivers including Oilers free agent before he even plays a game with the team
Teams are continuing to cut down their NHL rosters ahead of Tuesday's roster deadline. As teams head into the weekend for their final preseason game it appears more and more teams are closing in on their opening day rosters. With a 2 pm deadline today, we now know that every player placed on waivers yesterday has cleared.
Today's list of players placed on waivers has been released and it is filled by many veteran players.
Mattias Janmark was signed by the Oilers on July 13th as a free agent. During training camp Janmark has been less than impressive for the Oilers. Another notable name on the list is Carolina Hurricanes assistant captain, Jordan Martinook.
Hurricanes GM Don Waddell said the following:
It's vital that we maximize our flexibility prior to finalizing the opening day roster. Our expectation is that Jordan will be a part of our group as we try to bring a championship to Raleigh this season.
All players placed on waivers yesterday have cleared.
