NHL Department of Player Safety announces suspension for Josh Anderson.
During the 3rd period of last night's game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Vegas Golden Knights, Josh Anderson was ejected for boarding Golden Knights' captain Alex Pietrangelo. As Pietrangelo carried the puck in front of the Vegas bench he bobbles it. As he tries to make an adjustment he turns his back to Anderson who delivers a hit directly in the numbers. The blow sends Pietrangelo face first into the boards.
Pietrangelo was uninjured on the play and he immediately jumped up to his feet to defend himself. Anderson was given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct on the play. Both Pietrangelo and Alec Martinez were given roughing minors on the play.
Now the NHL Department of Player Safety has rendered their decision issuing a 2 game ban to Anderson.
Montreal's Josh Anderson has been suspended for two games for Boarding Vegas' Alex Pietrangelo.
Anderson will forfeit $59,459.46 in salary over the next two games.
