NHL Player Safety announces punishment for Zach Kassian
The Oilers lost last night's game 4-0 and fell behind the Avalanche 2-0 in the series. That wasn't the only loss facing the Oilers, as Zach Kassian finds himself losing a bit of money from his wallet. Today NHL Department of Player Safety announced the following punishment.
Edmonton's Zack Kassian has been fined $2,500 for Unsportsmanlike Conduct during last night's game against Colorado.
The fine stems from a play where Josh Archibald delivered a hit on Bowen Byram that sent Byram into the Oilers' bench. Kassian, who found himself on the bench for most of the night, grabbed hold of Byram's helmet and pulled it off his head.
Byram, who suffers from concussion issues was furious on the play. Kassian received a 2-minute minor for interference on the play.
