One of the Colorado Avalanche's injured forwards could return for tomorrow's game
The Colorado Avalanche will need all the help they can get if they want to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning and stop their three-peat. The Avalanche may have another depth forward to add to the mix as one of their injured players has returned to practice, in Andrew Cogliano. Cogliano injured his finger which required surgery in Game 4, 3rd period against the Edmonton Oilers.
A day ago, Jared Bednar was asked about the status of Andrew Cogliano and Nazeem Kadri:
Asked if the chances of Kadri and/or Cogliano have gotten better, less, or stayed the same, Bednar said, «I think they've gotten better. I think there's a possibility that we see one or both of those guys. Time will tell. It's still a day-to-day process. They're putting in a bunch of work in the training room to get ready and we're hopeful that we'll be able to see them at some point.»
The Avalanche put on a masterclass in scoring when putting up 2 early against the defending champions.
Cogliano before his injury put up 2 points in 2 games with a +1 against the Oilers, so, the 4th liner will get another chance to slot in and contribute more soon.
Cogliano was moved during the trade deadline from the San Jose Sharks and it seems like he's found his place on the roster. Cogliano has chemistry with some of his teammates, given their past, Josh Manson and Cogliano were teammates in Anaheim, which is helpful, along with Jack Johnson who he was roommates with in Michigan.
«Comfortable with a lot of guys in the room and that's an added bonus,» Cogliano said Wednesday morning.
«I'm a small piece of a puzzle. That's what I think. But to have success, you're going to need different pieces and people and personalities."
