Patrice Bergeron left leaking after getting struck by a one-timer in the face
Poor Patrice Bergeron took a puck right in the face last night in the third period of the Bruins and Islander game last night. Boston was on the power play in the Islanders zone when David Pastrnak took a one timer from just inside the blueline. The puck went off an Islander player and went right into the face of Bergeron who immediately dropped to the ice.
Even Islander Casey Cizikas signaled the ref to stop play. Fellow teammate Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak helped Bergeron skate to the Bruins bench.
Out of all injuries that happen in hockey, taking a puck to the face is the one I hate to see the most. Capitals defender John Carlson took an awful shot to the ear a few weeks ago and now this horrible moment happened to the Bruins captain. Bergeron is a great player and is known for his awesome leadership in the Bruins locker room. Certainly, his teammates and the fans were concerned for him.
But in typical Bergeron fashion he returned to the bench after a little repair work.
