Pitcher seriously injured after starting wild brawl by talking s*** to player he hit
Baseball brawls are usually disappointing, you know the ones where no punches get thrown and no one gets hurt. Well this wasn't one of those brawls.
Today after being hit by a pitch, Portland Sea Dogs' first baseman Tyreque Reed went after Binghamton Rumble Ponies' starter Marcel Rentera. Words appear to have been exchanged first. Reed and Rumble Ponies third baseman Brett Baty have since been ejected.
Tyreque Reed is listed at 6-1, 250 pounds. He put that mass behind a thunderous right hand. Marcel Renteria took it flush and then got slammed on his shoulder.
I vote for more of this action in professional baseball!
