Pop punk band are furious with Florida Panthers after goal song snub
The Florida Panthers had one of the most dynamic offences during the 2021-22 National Hockey League season, scoring the most goals in the league last year. after losing in the second round of the playoffs after mortgaging their future to enter "win-now mode" it was clear something had to change. The first domino to fall? Their goal, they had been using "sweetness" by Jimmy Eat World for years, well, no more!
Jimmy Eat World took to Twitter to voice their displeasure that Florida had moved on from their goal song:
If you're scoring the most goals of any team in the NHL and you don't win the cup, maybe the problem isn't your goal song, but hey if it's not broke, feel free to fix it
In all seriousness, this is likely a light-hearted jab, but they aren't wrong. Panthers opponents heard sweetness a league-leading 340 times last year.
Now the Panthers off-season checklist in order of priority is as follows:
1) Find a new goal song
2) Find consistent goaltending
3) Disrespect a Jack Adams runner-up and choose a new coach
