Brad Marchand may have earned himself another hearing with NHL Player Safety after a hit tonight in the Bruins versus Blue Jackets game.
The hit in question happened in the 1st period. Marchand appears to throw a hit that lands to the head and neck area of Andrew Peeke.
The hit left Peeke down on the ice, while the Bruins turned the puck the other direction and actually scored on a breakaway. After the play Jakob Voracek was issued a 10-minute misconduct for arguing the play with officials.
It will be interesting to see if NHL DoPS feels this is a hit to the head because that could lead to a very lengthy suspension for Marchand.
Update: After a trip through concussion protocol it appears Andrew Peeke is on the Blue Jackets bench for the 2nd period.
