Thursday night the Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Rangers met in a potential Metropolitan divisional playoff matchup. In their final game against each other this season the arena had a playoff like atmosphere.
From the drop of the puck the game was fast paced and hard hitting. It was the goalies who stole the show though as Tristan Jarry only allowed 2 goals, and Igor Shesterkin recorded his fourth shutout of the season.
As the final horn went both teams went after each other, trying to send a message.
The referees issued no penalties to end the game despite the scrum.
It was the Rangers who got the last laugh though. Specifically Shesterkin as he waved goodbye to the penguins.
