For some time, the speculation surrounding Timo Meier and the San Jose Sharks has run rampant. We know he's likely counting down the days until he finds himself a new home, but there appears to only be one real option.
According to Corey Masisak of The Athletic at this point the New Jersey Devils are the front runner for Meier. Take a look:
Multiple sources from teams not expected to be in the mix for him believe the Devils are the favorite to land Timo Meier.
Meier, 26, has skated in 57 games for the Sharks this season collecting 52 points, including 31 goals and 21 assists.
The Devils are currently sitting in 2nd in the Metropolitan Division firmly in a playoff position. Adding Meier would just add to an already great team.
As long as the cost isn't too much, a team like New Jersey should be all in.
