Roberto Luongo returns to Twitter to take shit at a former teammate
Roberto Luongo spent 8 years with the Vancouver Canucks and was a goalie during the cup run in 2011, and he hasn't lost his touch. He and Kevin Bieksa were teammates in that time period, as well as developing a strong friendship.
It was announced that Bieksa had signed a one-day contract to retire as a Vancouver Canuck, after spending the majority of his career in the organization, until he was ultimately traded to Anaheim in 2015.
In classic Luongo fashion, he took a hilarious jab at Bieksa's one-day contract:
The irony of it all is Luongo retiring in 2018-2019 has ended up affecting the Vancouver Canucks salary cap, with a 3-year, $3.03 Million recapture cost. Bieksa will retire as a Canuck on November 3rd against the Anaheim Ducks.
Bieksa played in 597 NHL games with 56 goals and 185 assists for 241 points. But what he's likely remembered for most is some of his highlight reel fights and Superman Punches.
