Robin Lehner has played his last game as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, trade expected
Over the past year the Vegas Golden Knights took a significant hit to their reputation as a desirable place to play. After situations involving Nate Schmidt, Marc-Andre Fleury and Max Pacioretty, it has been reported that agents have even warned players about signing in Vegas due to their treatment of players.
Now it appears another member of the team might be finding his way out of Sin City. According to Dan Rosen the Golden Knights are so satisfied with the goaltending they've received from Logan Thompson and Admin Hill, that they're willing to move on from Lehner.
The goalie situation up until 2020, was fairly stable as Flower was their number-one goalie, then Vegas acquired Lehner in a quick flip from the Chicago Blackhawks, via the Toronto Maple Leafs, with salary retained.
Since then, they shipped Flower to Chicago for an ECHL player, brought in former Jets goaltender Laurent Brossoit, utilized Logan Thompson as their third-string goalie, and recently brought in Adin Hill.
It's looking like fan favorite Robin Lehner will possibly be next on the chopping block. Lehner reportedly had multiple issues with the franchise before he was injured last season. Clearing Lehner's $5,000,000 could be huge for the Golden Knights as well.
