Russian Hockey Player Get's Cut In The Throat By A Skate Blade
Players getting cut is becoming way too common in the hockey world.
The latest incident occurred in the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL) match between Bars Kazan and Metallurg Novokuznetsk.
The Barça hockey players were in the attack. Trying to pass through several opponents, Kazan forward Ravil Yakupov fell and raised his leg high. Behind him at that moment was Kuznya defender Vitaly Lyulko. While falling, Yakupov caught his opponent's neck with his skate.
A second later, Lyulko threw off his leggings and grabbed his throat. The guy managed to get to the substitutes' bench on his own, where doctors rushed to him. The player was reportedly taken off the bench on a stretcher and transported to hospital in an ambulance.
While some players were wearing neckguards, Lyulko was not.
The incident is an eerie reminder of the tragedy that occurred in the EIHL that lead to the passing of Adam Johnson.
Lyulko's head coach Valeri Belov: released a positive update on the injured player after the game.
"Everything is fine with Vitali Lyulko, the artery is not damaged, the vessel has been sutured. Vitaly remains here in Kazan. We don't know yet how long he will stay here. The worst, thank God, is over. We wish Vitali good health."
Everyone at BladeofSteel wishes Lyulko all the best on his recovery.
