Ryan Carpenter shares first photo of his stitches after nearly having his ear cut off by a skate
On Friday night, New York Ranger's forward Ryan Carpenter suffered a significant cut. In the 2nd period while engaging with a Jets player, both players stumble and a skate comes up and clips Carpenter in the head and ear. Carpenter immediately jumps to his feet and skates to the Rangers bench.
Due to the setup in Winnipeg though, Carpenter had to wait until a stoppage in play before being able to seek medical attention. On the bench Carpenter can be seen asking the trainer, "is it bad?"
Yesterday after some extensive work Carpenter shared the following picture of the repair to his mangled ear before and after. It's clear it took significant work to get his ear back together.
Just a warning this photo isn't for the squeamish.

Carpenter isn't expected to miss significant time and should be back in the Rangers lineup shortly. Just more proof that hockey players are warriors.
