Things got heated during last night's game between the Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers. With the Wild leading 5-1 a scrum broke out between Evander Kane and Ryan Hartman. The linesmen on the ice were able to separate Kane and Hartman before a fight broke out, but Hartman flipped Kane off as he was being removed from the ice.
Both men were given 10-minute misconducts, effectively ejecting them from the game. But after the game the war of words wasn't finished as Hartman had a lot to say about Kane:
It goes to show, we had five guys in there. They didn't have one guy in there to help him. I don't think any of their guys are going to defend him.
When Hartman was asked how he felt about the idea of being suspended for his gesture, he simply added:
It'll be well worth it.
The two teams don't meet again during the regular season, but this could make for a very entertaining postseason matchup should these teams paths cross.
