The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers are currently playing Game 1 of their 7 game series. During the 3rd period of tonight's game, Ryan McDonagh threw a huge hit that sent Noel Acciari flying.

On the play Acciari attempted to catch that had been flipped into the neutral zone when McDonagh stepped up on the play and delivered the huge hit.

McDonagh was given a 2-minute minor for interference on the play and Lightning coach, Jon Cooper was understandably upset with the call. Acciari was in possession of the puck at the time the hit was delivered and the hit was delivered legally.
The Bolts went on to win Game 1 by a score of 4-1.
