Ryan Reaves was a healthy scratch in round 3 of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the New York Rangers. He also understands he needs to make adjustments to his game to stay effective and remain in the league. Reaves knows if he can't improve one area of his game, then he's bound to be out of the league in no time.

So what are his summer plans now?

I think a lot of my summer is just trying to get as fast as I can... I've got to keep up with these young guys now.

The 4th liner, who by far is there to deliver hits and pain will need to keep his edge as he is in his 12th year in the NHL. Netting 5 goals and 8 assists for 13 points, is 4th liner numbers, his linemates Barclay Goodrow and Tyler Motte typically, were changed up in the last few games against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

That being said, Reaves has had a successful run in the post-season, every year since his run in Vegas. Unlike Pat Maroon who fulfills the same role in Tampa Bay, however, hasn't been able to achieve a dynasty, which Reaves own Rangers weren't able to stop his 15th series win.

Reaves brought in purely for muscle and to create space on the ice, will hopefully be back in next year's Ranger squad and accomplish what they couldn't in 2021-2022. Reaves' current cap hit is $1.75 million AAV, and after the 2022-2023 season will become a UFA.
