Ryan Reaves lands a questionable hit from behind on Kasperi Kapanen
No matter how the Rangers versus Penguins series ends, both teams are likely going to be feeling the effects of these games for the coming weeks. In a series that has seen almost everything, tonight was another physical affair.
With 3-minutes remaining in the 2nd period, Kasperi Kapanen plays the puck along the side boards. As the puck squirts away Ryan Reaves approaches from behind and delivers a stiff check directly into the numbers.
Kapanen falls to the ice in considerable pain and struggles to eventually get to his feet. There was no penalty on the play, despite this hit fitting the criteria for both boarding and hitting from behind.
The Rangers went on to force a game 7 on Sunday.
