In tonight's matchup with the Buffalo Sabres hosting the Boston Bruins, one of the most hilarious scenes in sports occurred before the game - the anthem singer butchered the lyrics.
It was odd enough that the Canadian national anthem would be sung before a game with two American teams, and it seems as though the anthem singer wasn't prepared. The opening melody was way off, and it was all downhill from there.
The singer stumbled through the beginning, and quickly skips over a majority of the anthem.
It's almost tough to hear, as the singer undoubtedly knows that he doesn't know the anthem. Even faces in the crowd, like the father and son in the video, notice that the singer is messing up the song.
One day, hopefully the singer will put this behind him and be able to laugh at his mistake, and join the rest of the hockey world.
