The San Jose Sharks look to have named newly-acquired Kappo Kähkönen as their starting goaltender going into next season, which makes sense after getting him at the deadline at a hefty price. At 25, it's his time to prove he can manage a full-time workload. Where does that leave James Reimer and Adin Hill though?
The Arizona Coyotes, Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, Minnesota Wild, Philadelphia Flyers, Vancouver Canucks, Vegas Golden Nights and Washington Capitals are all in the mix for the the services of Reimer and Hill
Reimer, 34, is coming off a strong season in San Jose. In 48 games played Reimer posted a 19-17-10 record with 1 shutout, a .911 save percentage and a 2.90 goals against average. With another year at 2.25, he might be the easier one to move, but the Sharks may have to lower their asking price from a 2nd round pick if they actually wanna get a deal done.
Hill, 26, is a little bit harder to trade. He's struggled with injuries playing in just 1 game over the last three months of the hockey season. However, it seems he is finally healthy and with a record of 10-11-1 with 2 shutouts a .906 save percentage and a 2.66 goals against average, a team that needs goaltending can feel comfortable taking a chance on him. Let's just hope for Hill's sake, he can stay healthy.
