Shane Wright is unhappy in Seattle, and he's not the only one upset
The Seattle Kraken need to address what to do with their prized first round pick Shane Wright. Wright has only dressed in five of Seattle's ten games this season and he has one assist. It's been a turbulent ride for Shane Wright over the last year. He was thought to be the first overall pick of the previous draft, he missed a fair amount of ice time in juniors due to Covid-19, and rumors have swirled that he has a bad attitude.
On top of all that, Wright is only averaging seven minutes per game for Seattle. Wright's minutes have been sheltered by head coach Dave Hakstol and has played on the fourth line. It does not seem that Seattle wants to give Wright any more ice time or added responsibility on special teams. The issue now is, what does Seattle do with Wright?
According to Jeff Marek of Sportsnet, things are close to reaching a boiling point as Wright and his camp are reportedly upset with the Kraken and his usage. While General Manager, Ron Francis is also reportedly upset with the entire situation. Things in Seattle are likely to come to a head in the coming days.
