St. Louis Blues expected to move on from one of their goalies
St. Louis Blues goalie, Ville Husso had a solid year in 2021-2022, with a 2.94 GAA and a .912 SV%. His overall record was 25-7-6, with a not-so-impressive playoff showing, considering he had to face the Avalanche.
He ended up helping the Blues win at least two games in the series, but even with all the goalie depth they have, the Blues and Berube have nothing to show for it.
Husso may end up being a trade piece again, as it's been discussed by Elliott Friedman, that he may end up in Edmonton after all.
Friedman on TJMS: «Remember how much we were talking in January/Feb. about Husso and the Oilers? I just wonder if that one kicks up again in the offseason. I think the Oilers are preparing for the possibility of a future without Mike Smith, whether it's retirement or it's LTIR»
If the Oilers move on from Mike Smith, they'll need to have a solid backup to Stuart Skinner, who will likely land the starting role.
With Charlie Lindgren ready to be promoted and Jordan Binnington being their starter, the St. Louis Blues are set with their tandem.
With Lindgren being the new backup can the Blues make it past the Avalanche next year? I doubt it, but with Binnington's hot-headed nature, I do see an opening for Lindgren to take his job.
