There has been a lot of chatter around the St. Louis Blues this off-season. Who is staying? Who's going? Who are they looking to get rid of? At one time or another goaltender, Ville Husso has been the subject of those rumours. Now, it seems the Blues are intent on keeping their 1B netminder (if you want to call him that).
According Andy Strickland, Rink Side reporter for the Blues, they're trying extremely hard to extend Husso because he loves the St. Louis area and has a great relationship with Jordan Binnington, so that aim as of right now is to try and keep him in a Blues uniform going forward.
Husso 27, only has 57 games of NHL experience to his credit so far, but he has preformed quite well on the limited amount of action he's seen at the games highest level. In 40 games last season, he held a record of 25-7-6 with 2 shutouts a 2.56 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage. Not a bad first full season in the National Hockey League if you ask me.
If St. Louis can get him back at a dollar value that makes sense for them, I would have no problem with that, however, if he wants anywhere in the vicinity of 4-5 million per, you have to let him go. I don't care how good he's been with such limited experience you can't afford to pay him that much per year.
