Team Canada forward ejected for one of the best hits you'll see all year
It's a well known fact that the IIHF is a lot more strict when it comes to hitting. The referees are given far more power to eject players from the game and that's exactly what happened to Team Canada forward Zach Dean.
As Dean pursued a defender below the Czechia goal line he waited for him to turn around and then delivered a big hit. The hit by all accounts appeared clean. To everyone except the IIHF.
Dean was given a 5 minute major and a game misconduct on the play. The Canadians currently trail the Czechia team 5-2 in the 3rd period.
