The Columbus Blue Jackets currently sit 11 points out of a playoff spot and in all likelihood will not be competing for the Stanley Cup this year. They have some players drawing interest from other teams. Max Domi is a forward many teams have been interested in to help upgrade their top 9. He is in the final year of his contract, with a cap hit of $5.3 Million.
Domi was originally drafted by the Arizona Coyotes where he showed great potential to be a top line forward. He was traded to Montreal in 2018, where he had his most productive year scoring 72 points. But since his first season in Montreal he has failed to come close to elite numbers again. Later he was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets where he has contributed in a top 6 role. This year he has amassed 31 points in 50 games.
According to Jeff Marek of Sportsnet, multiple teams have called about a possible trade for Domi.
The Washington Capitals, Boston Bruins, and Colorado Avalanche have all shown interest in Domi. It will be interesting to see what Columbus can get for him.
