When Jesse Puljujarvi as selected 4th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, it came with some extremely high expectations. Unfortunately, since arriving in the league, Puljujarvi has never lived up to the hype. Puljujarvi has been in the shadows of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
According to Tom Gazzola from TSN, Puljujarvi is rumored to not be returning to the Oilers next season. It sounds as though, both Puljujarvi and the Oilers are looking for a fresh start ahead of next season.
Puljujarvi is an RFA and the only way out of Edmonton for him would be either by trade or by an offer sheet. In 65 games this year Puljujarvi put up 14 goals and 22 assists. Despite his low point totals, Puljujarvi was one of the Oilers best players at generating chances.
