Things quickly escalate between Zach Hyman and Jamie Benn during a scrum
During today's game between the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars things escalated quickly between Jamie Benn and Zach Hyman. As the two teams pair off in a post whistle scrum, Benn and Hyman appear to be enjoying the view as they stand near the blueline. To many people's surprise things suddenly escalate very quickly.
It begins when Benn slashes Hyman's stick out of his hands. As Hyman tries to pickup the stick from the ice Benn pokes the stick away. That's when Benn grabs hold of Hyman and the two begin to push and shove.
While many wondered how this escalate, earlier in the game Hyman had delivered a hit to Joe Pavelski, the hit which went uncalled was clearly a charge.
It appears given Benn's track record that Hyman may have got off lucky in this situation.
