The St. Louis Blues have had quite the busy off-season to this point. First, signing young star Robert Thomas to an 8-year 65 million dollar extension on July 13th while adding some pieces around him as well, but where does that leave another young star in Jordan Kyrou?
According to Andy Strickland, Blues rinkside reporter, the extension talks from both sides are heading in the right direction and have been progressing forward, although no deal has been reached yet.
Kyrou, 24 played in 74 games with the Blues last season, notching 27 goals and adding 48 assists for 75 points. A breakout season for young forward to be sure, notching career highs across all major categories.
If St.Louis can get a deal done with Kyrou soon, their forward group looks to be in good shape headed by the two young point producers.
My only fear would be their lack of track record. Can they stay at the level they played at last season, or better yet, improve? The season is just around the corner and there's only one way to find out.
