Tim Stutzle scores impressive baseball swing overtime winner to save his team from embarrassing loss
With less than 90 seconds gone in the second period of today's game, the Ottawa Senators held a 4-0 lead. Ottawa dominated the first period and appeared as if they would coast to an easy victory. In the NHL there are no easy victories and today they found that out.
The Detroit Red Wings were able to fight back and scored 4 goals in under 10 minutes. Heading into the third period the game was tied and neither team was able to break the deadlock. When it seemed like the game was headed to a shootout, Tim Stutzle was able to steal back the game with just two seconds on the clock.
As the puck bounced up into the air, Stutzle was able to track it and with almost no time remaining be simply reacted. Stutzle pulled his stick back and baseball swung the puck up and over the goaltender snatching back victory for his team.
This is one of the most impressive overtime goals of the season and will likely end up as one of the top plays of the year.
