Toronto Maple Leafs General Manager makes a roster move to create almost $6,000,000 in cap space
The Toronto Maple Leafs who were once short on cap space, suddenly find themselves flush with cash. Today Kyle Dubas and the Leafs made the move to transfer Jake Muzzin to long-term injured reserve. Muzzin had previously been on injured reserve, which provided no cap relief.
The decision to move Muzzin to long-term injured reserve likely means his initial injury is much worse than previously noted. Reports had stated Muzzin had been seen around the team, but this indicates that he will be out of the lineup for at least a month.
Muzzin suffered his injury after a collision with Clayton Keller earlier this month.
With a lengthy history of concussion and neck/back injuries it will be interesting to see what happens with Jake Muzzin.
