The Toronto Maple Leafs are in pre-season action tonight taking on the Montreal Canadiens at Scotiabank Arena. Things are off to an awful start for the Leafs to say the least.
By the end of the first period, Toronto was down to 4 defenders after Jordie Benn and Carl Dahlstrom were both injured. Neither will be able to return to action tonight.
According to David Alter of Sports Illustrated and Rinkwide, the injuries have forced the Leafs to Calle Jarnkrok and Alex kerfoot as on D to fill the gaps
It's the third game of the pre-season all things considered, but this isn't exactly how it's supposed to play out. Hey maybe adversity this early in training camp is good. Between this and Keefe's added edge so far, maybe this will be the year they don't get complacent during round one of the playoffs.
