Leafs Nation has been anxiously awaiting an update on Ilya Samsonov, who was injured against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night. Samsonov fell awkwardly with his knee bending behind him, while he was attempting to stop a Brad Marchand penalty shot.

Samsonov was able to finish the second period but didn't come out for the third. Backup goalie Erik Kallgren filled in admirably stopping all 7 shots he faced to secure the 2-1 win.

There was no update made available following the game. The 25 year old, has underwent tests to determine the severity of the injury.

It was a great sighting on Tuesday, seeing Samsonov back on the ice working with goalie coach Curtis Sanford. Samsonov will miss at least a week after being placed on IR, but thankfully it looks like he avoided a major injury.

Hopefully their will be a further update by head coach Sheldon Keefe after Tuesday's morning skate.
