Vegas Golden Knights player refusing to report to training camp
The Vegas Golden Knights have already had their season impacted by injuries. It was as previously announced that Robin Lehner would miss the entire season due to requiring hip surgery, that was followed by information that Mark Stone would not be prepared for the beginning of the season due to his surgery as well. But the nail in the coffin may have come when it was announced that the Vegas medical staff was unsure if Laurent Brossoit would return in October or January.
Now despite their injury issues and cap issues, there is now another issue surrounding the team. Now 23-year-old breakout defenseman Nic Hague is refusing to report to training camp. Last season Hague played 52 games for the Knights adding 14 points, but being extremely responsible defensively.
But after last season Hague's contract expired leaving him as a restricted free agent. While some restricted free agents opt to arrive at camp to show goodwill, Hague has opted to not appear. Given the Golden Knights history of taking care of players, that's probably a good choice.
