Washington Capitals appear to lose major piece to injury
The Washington Capitals entered their first round playoff matchup against the Florida Panthers, with question marks surrounding an already injured Alexander Ovechkin. Tonight things may have taken another turn for the worse for the Capitals. Tom Wilson opened the scoring for the Capitals and only 1 shift later it appears his night was over.
The injury occured at some point during the 1st period where Wilson left the Capitals bench and did not return. Wilson did not return to the bench for the 2nd period. The Capitals provided an update that Wilson was being evaluated.
It has been noted since that Wilson has since returned from the locker room and attempted to test out whatever injury is ailing him.
Just now, Tom Wilson came out of the tunnel, took a couple laps on the ice during this TVTO to test something out, said something to a Caps trainer and immediately off again back down the tunnel.
If Tom Wilson is unable to answer the bell for the Panthers it will make this series significantly more difficult for the Capitals to win.
