Following Canada's historic championship win at the 4 Nations, Brad Marchand sounded off on the Tkachuk brothers and blasted them for running their mouths.

Brad Marchand, no stranger to stirring the pot in the NHL, briefly found himself on the receiving end as the Tkachuk brothers, Matthew and Brady, brought their signature chaos to the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Canada, however, had the final say, edging out the U.S. 3-2 in overtime Thursday at Marchand's home rink in Boston.
"They play their game. They do what they do. Sometimes when you shoot your mouth off in the media, it bites you. You can do that during the season, but when you're playing best-on-best it's different, and they got a little bit ahead of themselves," Marchand told reporters post-game.

"They're great players and there's not many guys in the league that play the way they do and they're extremely effective, but when you start giving teams ammo, it can work against you as well."
The Tkachuks didn't waste any time sending a statement in the first meeting between the two countries when they were involved in two of the game's three first fights that broke out within the first nine seconds.
Later, they shared that their plan had begun in a group chat with J.T. Miller, the third American to drop the gloves.
The fights led to some heated words with Canada's Brandon Hagel, who battled Matthew. For his part, Brady let the scoreboard speak to his sound play as he scored three goals in four games, including the U.S.'s first goal in the championship final.

Matthew Tkachuk reaggravated his injury during the final

Not so lucky for Matthew, who sat out much of the tournament after aggravating an existing injury.
Marchand surprisingly had the tongue firmly in check throughout the tournament and avoided his usual antics. But with gold around his neck, he finally had the perfect comeback.
