Tensions are rising between Canada and the United States in recent times, and while it's only a little thing that Canadians feel they can do, they have continued to boo the anthem of the US for the past few weeks.
That continued when the US battled Finland on Wednesday night, with American star Matthew Tkachuk clearly not happy about how things have played out, as he expressed that after the team's 6-1 victory.
He's not the only one however, as Boston Bruins captain and Canadian forward Brad Marchand has now chimed in on the situation, making it clear that he believes the Canadian people are doing this the wrong way.
What this comes down to however is that the fans are not booing the players on the ice, but rather the entire situation that has led to this, and whether or not the NHL try to prevent this, it's going to continue until things change.
Now, these two teams do battle on Saturday night in Montreal in what could be one of the biggest hockey games in the history of the sport, and with both countries coming into this one on the back of huge victories to open their tournament combined with the tensions of the fans, this should be an incredible game on a massive stage.
