As the National Hockey League Playoffs begin the second round and further, the games obviously get tighter and more close checking, so with most fans on the edge of their seat, technology malfunctions can be increasingly more frustrating and annoying, especially what happened during the final minute of regulation between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers.
HockeyDaily365 on X captured the moment the broadcast cut away from the action in the final minute, something that cannot happen anytime, much less when the game is tied, likely heading for overtime; take a look.
If you needed anymore proof that the NHL is struggling with their product as a whole, there it is. As I said above, I know technical issues happen, but this is inexcusable for such a high stakes game.
The thing is, nobody at the top cares that the quality of the product is almost unwatchable now, they just care about whether they make money or not. As long as NHL commissioner Gary Bettman can keep money in the owners pockets, it's his job until he wants to retire.
